Edge Dots

Most of us see this view of the neck as we play guitar, mandolin or banjo:
As cool and decorative as the fingerboard inlay may be, for many of us it's not so
useful as the little dots inlaid into the edge of the fingerboard.
Most modern fretted instruments have these little markers for easy reference.
Classical guitars usually do not. It's a matter of tradition.
I frequently inlay edge dots for classical players who like
to have these little signposts along the way.
