A fine traditional
Classical Guitar by John Dick

With its back and sides of Brazilian rosewood, and cedar top, this is a fine American
handmade classical guitar. It has a full, strong tone suitable for concert use, and
is as pleasing to the eye as to the ear.
In particular, I'd like you to notice John's creative use of the light sapwood streak
in the rosewood back. He could easily have matched the other edges of the wood to
eliminate the sap streaks, but he chose to place them boldly in the center of the
back, replacing the usual inlaid back joint decoration.
John Dick is an individual luthier who lives and works in Iowa City, Iowa.
The neck, back and sides are finished in nitrocellulose lacquer,
while the top sports as fine a French polished finish as I've ever seen.
I'm especially drawn to this instrument because it shows off both the traditional
classical guitar handcraft and the special touches of a real wood enthusiast.
