Walk into the showroom at Gryphon Stringed Instruments, and you're likely to encounter Willie Carter. Guitar shoppers agree that it's a pleasant and educational experience "talking guitars" with Willie because he's so knowledgeable and committed. His commitment spills over into his "spare time," which he spends as a guitar maker.

Here's one of Willie's latest. It's a fingerstyle guitar that shows off some beautiful figured Hawaiian Koa along with the unique Carter body shape, "eccentric" soundhole rings and understated appointments. As with some other individually made instruments, we consider ourselves lucky to have had this fine sounding guitar to show off in the shop before it sold.
