Want to play like Django?
Dupont MD-50

From Maurice Dupont's workshop in Cognac, France, comes this fine replica of one
of the most famous jazz guitars of all time. Pretty much the standard "European
style" jazz guitar, this instrument is so closely associated with gypsy jazz
great, Django Reinhardt, that it is generally known as a Django style guitar. If
you're into gypsy jazz, then this is the guitar for you. If you're not, then it's
most likely of no use at all! Designed by Mario Maccaferri and first made by the
Selmer Company in France, these guitars have the classic big tone and "slap"
that just seems to fit Django's playing.
If you're not familiar with Django Reinhardt's playing, you might consider picking
up a CD or two. . .

Most "originals" have laminated back and sides, but this Dupont is made entirely of solid woods. Note the "zero fret," typical of the Selmer made originals. |
