A mighty rare early Fairbanks "ladies" model banjo, this one features
the "electric" tone ring construction, some really elegant engraved
inlay work, and an oak neck. Oh, yes, let me remind you that in those days "electric"
was a word not unlike "atomic" in the 1950s, or "turbo"
in recent decades. The electric tone ring is that scalloped affair you can see
under the head in the bottom left photo. Later it was used on the famous "Whyte
Laydie" series of Faribanks banjos.
