Just plain cool

Straight from the middle of the "Jazz Age," its a 16-inch arch top
guitar, pretty much along the lines of the earlier Gibson L-5. The most plain
model handmade by John D'Angelico, this one has no particular innovative touches
except his typical fine workmanship. Note the little round plug in the back,
just to the left of the center joint by the heel cap. You'll find it in the
center photo. It's a locating pin, typical of the early Italian violin makers.
There's a matching one at the end block.
