A guitar with a view
2000 Traugott "Millennium"
© Frank Ford, 2000; Photos by FF
With elaborate inlay by Larry Robinson, this guitar is a departure from Jeff Traugott's
usual understated elegant design. Jeff tells me he really felt like doing a special
tribute to the turn of the millenium, so he launched this message.
The peghead features the Earth rising over the Moon, while the back shows the precise
view of the celestial bodies over Jeff's shop on New Year's Eve right at the beginning
of the year 2000. The stars are all pretty much to the scale of their various magnitudes,
but he did have to include the big view of Saturn! The back and sides of this guitar
are Maccassar ebony, and the guitar features the Novax system of radial frets and
differential scale lengths.
