Ukuleles and tiples were standard fare in the Martin catalog
for a couple of generations, starting around World War One. Not too long after
this example was made, the tiple was discontinued as a catalog item. It has
all the standard appointments of a style "18," including rosewood
fingerboard and bridge, mahogany back and sides, and a spruce top.
