Can anyone tell me when this one was made?
Early Yamaha Ukulele
© Frank Ford, 1999
Well, here's a fine little ukulele!
It's made entirely of solid woods, with maple for the back, sides and neck, and spruce
for the top. The tuners are simple friction pegs of hardwood. The best part is that
it sounds really good.
Cheap import, yes. But a real "sleeper." Its construction is is about as
light as the great Hawaiian ukes from 1900-1920. From the look of it, and the style
of the label, I presume it was made in the 1950s.
