Part of the old time ethic, and a good thing to know how to do
Mounting Skin Banjo Heads
Frank Ford, 6/20/98
Everyone I know who sets his own skin heads on banjos started out with this classic
piece of instruction from good old S.S.Stewart. Follow this technique and you'll
make it through the process in pretty good order.
This article appears at the back of the 1896 S.S.Stewart banjo catalog. Our old friend, Michael Holmes reprinted this classic many years ago. He's a wealth of information about vintage banjos, and always has a lot of cool stuff for sale on his website where he publishes Mugwumps Online Magazine: http://www.mugwumps.com.
I scanned the page and cut the columns so you can scroll down through
the entire article.
