Aluminum Foil Tool Protector

Good old aluminum foil comes in handy for a variety of uses around the shop.

To protect the fragile cutting edges of a freshly sharpened or new end mill, I just wrap it in aluminum foil:

 

The foil crinkles up nicely, gripping the tool. It won't slip off, and it's soft enough that it can't dull the edges of the tool:

 

So the sharp tool can bounce around just about anywhere without danger of losing its edge:
