A Quick Stop

Every so often I make up about 50 of these little one inch long 3/8" diameter brass parts for a little banjo tuner bracket we sell at the shop. They need 3/16" holes drilled to the same depth. When I set up my collet stop and started to drill them, I realized the job would go really fast if I had a simple stop on the tailstock quill. I simply stuck a boring bar holder in so the back end of the bar could be extended until it contacted the end of the drill chuck. Made quick work of the job:
