When traveling with a guitar, pack it well padded in a cardboard box just as though you were shipping it by UPS or any other carrier. Cut a simple "D-hole" at the balance point, and you can carry it as easily as any other baggage. Then, when you check it on an airline flight, you can rest assured that the extra cushioning will protect it so it will arrive in good shape after the baggage handlers drop it on the tarmac from the hold of the plane.
