When packing an instrument for shipment or travel, concentrate on the most
vulerable part. Most of the time, that's the peghead, which can snap catastrophically
from the inertia of a flat fall without any visible damage to the case or packing
box. You'll virtually eliminate this injury if you pack the peghead VERY solidly
- top and bottom - so it is held rigidly in the case.
