When my flagged bristle ends of my dusting brush get all messed up and worn, I trim the bristles a bit shorter and give the brush a little makeover. Here I have (left to right) a new brush, one from which I've removed some of the bristles to make a chip brush for my milling machine, and one I've introduced to Mr. Bandsaw to make into a narrow cleaning brush:
