I have a very lightweight
tripod I use with a lightweight digital camera. The entire rig is
stable until I accidentally kick one of the legs and send it toppling over. So
I added weights to the base each of the three legs - they're simple lead
bars held on with shrink tubing. Now the tripod is amazingly stable,
no matter how clumsy I am.
