Shop Tip #119

If you want to cut a piece of delicate veneer or other impossibly thin item on the band saw, just run in a hunk of scrap plywood first to back it up, then cut away, pushing only on the thin piece. The plywood my move a little, but it will do a great job of keeping the blade from splintering your veneer.
