Here's a great example of what can be done when you harness the power of CNC. All these abalone inlay pieces are bordered in the thinnest of pearl, a feat that would be nearly impossible to accomplish by hand. Thanks to the skill and artistry of Larry Sifel and his crew at Pearl Works, we have an amazing guitar that was introduced as a limited edition production model. Expensive, yes, but not nearly as far off the scale as if it had all been done individually using traditional hand methods.
